Student success statement
“Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, although difficult, is the highroad to pride, self- esteem, and personal satisfaction.”
-         Margaret Thatcher
Reflection
Margaret is listing some of the rewards there are to doing what is right. I say rewards because nothing bad can come from doing what is right. They may not be immediate but after constantly choosing to do what is right they will become more apparent. Remember that the key is perseverance, even states that it will not be easy. The quickest reward for choosing the right is personal satisfaction. For example even if you get all the answers right on a test that you cheated you will not have the satisfaction of getting 98 percent while not cheating.

Balancing High School and part time work
Part 3
Brad Macgowan of the career Center at Newton North High School in Massachusetts thinks that working can be a valuable part of a student’s life, if taken on responsibility. “You can derive a great deal from working, considerable more than just money,” he says. “In most cases you can acquire a nice dose of discipline and a whole new set of skills and experiences.” In addition, your supervisor may be willing to write a strong college recommendation for you.
School comes first.
Schoolwork, including homework and studying for tests, should always be your top priority. MacGowan cautions students who do decide to work, “IF you are rushing through your assignments … or not studying enough for tests because of work, it’s time to cut back or quit and find a less time consuming job.

Two grandparents lock child for six years in the bathroom
Summary: Two grandparents from Dyton Ohio lock their granddaughter in the Bathroom for six years. They allowed her outside only when time to go to school came. They fed her inconsistent meals. They gave her only a Blanket to use for her to sleep. The door leading outside the bathroom was reinforced by drawers. The only exception for which they let the little girl out was when relatives visited. They have been charged with a first degree kidnapping felony punishable for up to ten years in prison and third degree child felony punishable for up to five years.
Reflection
What these grandparents did was completely and utterly wrong. They claim that the granddaughter was unruly even though psychologists have said she was normal. The punishment was far too extreme. They chose to do wrong and now they are paying the consequences rightfully so

Balancing high school and Part time work
Part 1

Like many high school students, you may want – or need – to work part time. Working takes a lot of time and energy, though, so before getting a job, make sure that you think of your ability to handle both work and your education.
Important considerations
You have to weigh a number of factors when deciding whether to take on a part time job. It is important to get as much information as possible, so you can figure out what choice makes the most sense for you.
Schedule a meeting with your school counselor to discuss you working. Talk to your counselor about why you want to work and what type of position you are seeking.

Student Success Statement
“If it is not right, do not do it; If it
Is not true, do not say it.”
-Marcus Aurelius

Reflection
This saying by Marcus Aurelius goes a back to the foundation that is choosing the right. Do things because they are the right thing to do. Do not do things that are wrong. This quote is especially powerful because it was said by a Roman Emperor. Follow his good example and commit yourself to choosing the right.

Selecting you courses
Part 6
Success in AP can also help you in other ways. AP helps you stand out in the admission process and offer the opportunity to learn from some of the most inspiring teachers in the world. Learn more about the AP program.
For more help in choosing your courses
Use college search to look up a specific college’s academic requirement to be sure you are on track to attend a college of your choice.
If you have concerns about your class schedule or progress in school, set up a meeting with your school counselor, teacher or adviser. There are many resources to help you with achieving this process, and achieving your personal, college and career goals. Without goals, you meander in all sorts of directions. Goals give your purpose, direction, enthusiasm, and passion for that which you really desire. Define your goals deliberately, evaluate your goals and often make changes as necessary, work hard to achieve your goals, and continue working hard until you actually do achieve your goals.

Student Success statement
“To know what is right
And not to do it is the
Worst cowardice”
-Confucius

Reflection
I believe that this statement is true. The worst cowardice is not something as simple as refusing to perform incredible and dangerous stunts. If you know recognize what is right and do the wrong instead then that is being a coward. Choose the right, be brave even when its not the most popular thing to do.

Student Success Statement

“Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the three magic keys to living your life with integrity.”

-         W. Clement Stone

Reflection

Don’t follow the crowed; follow the path that does what is right. If someone wants to do something illegal and asks you for your cooperation in it, you should have the courage to tell them that you are not interested in such activities. Don’t stay in denial and think that just because everyone else is doing it, that makes it right. You have to realizes that wrong is always wrong and its popularity matters not. Learn to do what’s right simply because it is the right thing to do
