Honesty
9 of 10
Honesty is always the best policy. Employers need to know that they can trust you with everything from company credits to trade secrets. How can you work with honesty? You demonstrate integrity every day that you do your own homework and resist the temptation to cheat on exams.
What is honesty?
Honesty is telling the truth
Honesty is straight forward conduct
Honest is being sincere, truthful,
Trustworthy, honorable, fair genuine, and
Loyal with integrity.
You are being honest when you…
Do your homework
Tell a friend the truth
Explain the real reason you didn’t turn in upir homework
Keep your eyes on your own paper
Clean up your room after making a promise
Give the cashier the extra money she gave you by mistake.
Write a report in your own words instead of copying
Admit you made the mistake
Keep a friend’s secret
Turn in a wallet full of money that you found.

Time management
8 of 10
Master the moments and you may be a real pro when it comes to juggling the many demands on your time.—classes, homework and activities—with some family help. Colleges give you an even bigger chance to sharpen your time management skills by doing it all on your own. And that is a good thing since most jobs require multi-tasking. You might need to take care of current clients while attracting new ones, respond to e-mails while working on a major presentation, or order tomorrows produce while planning next week’s menu.
Someone said, “Wherever you are be there.” Focus on the present moment and give it all your attention. Don’t let your mind drift and wander here and there when you need to be thinking and concentrate on the moment at hand. You can’t go back and recapture this moment, so make the most of it while it is NOW. Master the present and you will master the future. Work smart by mastering the present moment.

Attention to detail
7 of 10
When you double check your calculations for a math problem or cite sources carefully in research paper, you’re paying close attention to detail. That skill comes in handy in any workplace, whether you maintain a database, keep a log of the hours you spend with clients or write e-mails.
John Wooden, UCLA’s former great basketball coach who led his team to ten consecutive national championships, was asked what he attributed his success to. Among a number of things, he mentioned that paying attention to details was one of the most important qualities for successful coaching and for high achievement in any worthwhile pursuit. He even paid attention to how his players would lace up and tie their shoes strings. If they didn’t toe them correctly, he would teach them how.
Details may be small things but from small things, but from small things come great things; therefore, pay attention to details and you will experience substantial progress in your overall attainment.

Cool Under Pressure
6 of 10
Very few students enjoy taking test. Yet functioning well under pressure is crucial to your future success. Try thinking of pressure of testing as practice for the work world’s own explosive situations. You could someday find yourself meeting tight deadlines, speaking with irate customers, wielding a scalpel or handling dangerous Chemicals.
The best way to curtail pressure and to even eliminate it is to prepare. Apply the motto “Be prepared” holds true first time and every time. Prepare for that test, and you won’t worry about it. In fact, it will be your chance to shine, to reveal the hard work you have put into preparing for that test. You will be rewarded for the effort you have thrust into your studies. Preparation removes fear. When you are prepared, you will not fear. Preparation helps you maintain your cool pressure. Preparation generates energy and enthusiasm; therefore, prepare and your coolness is sure to be abound.

Student success statement
“Start with what is right rather
Than what is acceptable”
-Peter F. Drucker

Reflection

Drucker is trying to tell us that there are many things in the world that aren't right and yet are still acceptable. Remember that right will always be right and popularity will not affect it. Sometimes the law allows for certain things to pass even though they are not right. You should focus on doing what is right rather than doing what other people think is acceptable.
Initiative
5 of 10
Initiative is creativity, inventiveness, originality, ingenuity, imagination. Every time you respond in class, every time you choose your own research topic, every time you put together your own interpretation of a piece of literature, you take the initiative. And future employers value can-do professionals who come up with new ideas and chart their own courses through projects, employees who are self-reliant. Self-reliant- people are self-starters who don’t procrastinate on getting the job done. They know what is required to do and do they don’t wait to be told many times. Succeeding in high school, college, and in the career world is taking the initiative.

Teamwork Skills
3 of 10
Every time your class breaks into groups to tackle a challenge you build teamwork skills. In college, you’ll continue to have these opportunities to practice voicing your opinions, listening responding to others and reaching compromises. By the time you leave college, you can be an expert in this important workplace skill.
Together
Everyone
Achieves
More
Individually you can achieve only so much, but when you work with others for a common cause, the same objectives, you can accomplish a tremendous amount more. You synergize your talents, knowledge, and skills with those whom you work. All members of the team are edified together, a type of edification you can’t obtain by working alone.

Writing skills
1 of 10
Communication is at the top of the list of skills that employers look for. And communication in the workplace often means writing.
Health professionals keep patient charts, researchers depend on the money they collect by writing grant applications, software engineers write technical specifications, and nearly everyone writes email to people inside and outside their organization. And before you even get the chance to interview for a job, you’ll need to present yourself in cover letters and resumes.
So, by taking writing seriously and doing your best on every research paper, every lab report you write, every new post you write in your blog site, and every writing activity you engage in, you’re preparing yourself for a good career.

Student Success Statement
“Always do right.”
-Mark Twain

Reflection

This statement is self-explanatory. It is just three simply word but it can change everything about your life. Remember nothing bad will ever come of doing what is right. There are consequences for every choice you make but if you choose to do what’s right you can expect that none of those consequences will be negative. Choose the right

Student Success Statement
“The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character.”
-Margaret Chase Smith

Reflection
I completely agree with this statement. Right will always be right even if others think it is not. For example, if everyone at your school was to be using drugs that would not make it any less wrong. If someone chose the right and continue to live without the use of illegal drugs that would show that that person has good character. If everyone at your school is bulling someone don’t join in, instead do what’s right and find a way to help the bullied student. If others don’t agree with what you are doing, it won’t matter because you will feel it in your conscience that you are doing what is right.

It’s online but is it on target?
Part 3
Dot-What?
Look at the sites address. What follows the dot?
·         Dot-com is not only for businesses; anyone can use it. Dot-coms include well-known and respected companies, but also private individuals.
·         Dot-org usually indicates a non-profit organization. Many dot-orgs present unbiased information, but others have political agendas, focused in a debatable issue instead of facts, and might not present all sides of the argument.
·         Dot-gov indicates a government website at the federal, state or local level. The federal government is a good source of statistics, and its sites are widely considered among the most reliable.
·         Dot-mil is used by sites that are part of the military.
·         Dot-edu usually indicates a university website. While its published research is generally very trust worthy, anyone associated with the university, whether a world renowned scholar or a freshmen, can be given space in its server. Professors sometimes put student course work up on the Web, but that doesn't mean that they’re vouching for the information’s accuracy.

It’s online, but is it on Target?
Part 1
Using the web wisely
Thanks to the web, information is easy to find. However, it is also easy to post something online. Anyone can do it.
You have probably used the internet to do research for a paper, to help you decide which product to buy, or to form an opinion about current events. Looking up information online is fast and convenient. But when you do online research, it is important to find sites that you can trust. Many websites claim to have the facts, but are full of errors. Others present information in a bias way – they only give on side of the argument. How can you tell an unreliable source from a reliable source? Also, it is critical that you post online only that which is decent and appropriate, never anything pornographic, vulgar, indecent out of taste, untruthful, or obscene. Post those things that will make a good name for you and your organization, that which will promote goodwill and be benefit to the world

Student Success Statement
“When an archer misses the mark, he turns and looks at the fault within himself. Failure to hit the bulls-eye is never the fault of the target. To improve your aim, improve yourself.”
-Gilbert Arland
Reflection
I believe that the main message in this statement is, take responsibility for your actions. For example if you do badly on a test, don’t make excuses and blame the teacher because you've only to blame yourself. If you didn't know the material well it was your job to ask for the extra help. Don’t blame others and accept that your choices have consequences. Choose the right and always do what is right.

SQR3
SQR3= Survey question Read-Recite-Review
Question
As you survey the text, ask a question for each section. Ask what, why, how, when, who, and where questions as they relate to the content. Here is how you can create questions.
·         Turn the title, heading or subheading into questions.
·         Rewrite the questions at the end of the chapter or after each subheading in your own words.
Write down your questions. Questions help you pay attention, understand the text better and recall the information more easily later on.
Read
Read one section of the chapter at a time, actively looking for an answer to your question for that section. Pay attention to bold and italicized text that the authors use to make important points.
Be sure to review everything in that section, including tables, graphs, and illustrations – these features can communicate an idea more powerfully than written text.

Student success statement
“There is no justification ever for choosing
any part of what you know to be evil”
-Ayn Rand
(Novelist, Philosopher, Playwright, screenwriter)
Reflection
I agree with Ayn Rand in that there is no reason to do something evil. Many may say that the ends justify the means but I cannot agree with that. If that is the logic you have then think of a better solution for your problem. Evil will always be evil no matter what. If you think that you are helping out a friend by choosing to do something wrong that hurts someone, then I suggest you make better friends. Choose the right and always do what is right.

Student Success statement
“Tell me what is right and
I will fight for it.”
-          Woodrow Wilson
I believe what president Wilson was trying to say is that he will defend what is right. He will not falter and let corruption or things of that sort continue. I believe that this is something that we should all do. Don’t follow the crowd but fight for what is right and fight to protect it.

Student Success Statement
“Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the three magic keys to living your life with integrity.”
-         W. Clement Stone
Reflection
Don’t follow the crowed; follow the path that does what is right. If someone wants to do something illegal and asks you for your cooperation in it, you should have the courage to tell them that you are not interested in such activities. Don’t stay in denial and think that just because everyone else is doing it, that makes it right. You have to realizes that wrong is always wrong and its popularity matters not. Learn to do what’s right simply because it is the right thing to do

Man return stolen cash to Seattle, Washington sears 60 years later.

 Reflection

This is one example of how choosing the wrong is never something you can forget. This man after living with the guilt of stealing money decided it was time to return it. He also put in extra money as interest. Living with that guilt for so long must have been hard. The question you have to ask yourself is, “is it really worth stealing 20-25 dollars and to live with that guilt for the rest of my life?”  I like many would see that as a bad choice. It is best to earn the money honestly and fairly and enjoy it then to have it by stealing and having to live with the guilt.

“What’s right isn’t always popular. What is popular isn’t always right.”
-Howard Cosell
Description: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC2ZNet6dbSaLFXvjt3ujLItnM-BGqo1dNs_dZMgRLfF0qACnEPunn3yD_hAhxgD97iosuLtGweDcpnOLQk9ZwES6nDwx9UJVBuw4JSPOF2PB5523WM8OoHzJqP9qbC84RxbNsQVIpmsg/s1600/Christmas+Story+Soap.jpgOn particular example that shows how true this statement is would be drugs. Drugs might be popular among many people, but is it ok to use them because everyone else is? The answer is no. Right will always be right even If everyone does wrong. Another example would be bullying. If ever student in a class is bullying a particular student does that mean that it is right or okay to as well? Absolutely not! Don’t do what is popular, Do What Is Right.
