 Student success statement
“When I was teaching basketball, I urged my players to try their hardest tyo improve on that very day, to make that practice a masterpiece. The rule is even more important in life than in basketball. You have to apply yourself each day to become a little better. By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach being the best you can be. It begins by trying to make each day count and knowing you can never make up for a lost day.”
-John Wooden
Reflection
What john wooden is trying to tell us is that to become successful you have to try. You won’t become successful by sitting on a couch and doing nothing, you have to apply yourself. Make steps towards achieving your goals. It might seem hard at first but then when you get into the routine of things; it will become a habit and be much easier. Don’t tell yourself that you will start tomorrow, start TODAY.

Student Success Statement
“The three Don’ts
Don’t whine
Don’t complain
Don’t make excuses”
-John Wooden

Reflection
I agree with John Wooden’s three don’t. You could be using the time that you are complaining to be improving or getting started on what you have to do. If you have energy to complain you have the energy to finish what you need to do. Don’t give excuses unless they really make it impossible for you to do something, like a broken arm therefore you can’t do push ups.  Not making excuses also goes with blaming others, most commonly the teacher. If you didn't understand the material you should have ask for help in your own time. Take responsibility for your choices.

Student Success Statement
“The three nevers”
Never Lie
Never Cheat
Never Steal
-John Wooden

Reflection
I agree with John Wooden. Choose the right and choose to not do any of these. Not lying, cheating, or stealing shows people that you have character. For example During a sports match or a test refrain from cheating. You will not get the same feeling of accomplishment you would have you done it right. You will have to live with that and your conscience won’t feel good. These are three easy things you can do that will make a lot of deference.
