Student success statement
“You have only always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience.”
-Robert E. Lee
Reflection
I agree with Robert E. Lee choosing the right is easy. If you did something wrong there is still time to change and do right so that you can clear your conscience. Living with a guilty conscience is torturous. You will never feel bad when you choose to do what is right.

Student Success Statement
“I think it better to do right, even if we suffer in doing,
Than to incur the reproach of our conscience and posterity.”
n  Robert E. Lee
Reflection
I myself believe this statement. Doing what is right won’t always be the easiest thing, sometimes we will have to endure the consequences. One of the worst feelings is, knowing what was right and knowing that you deliberately chose not to do it. For example if you see someone in desperate need of money or even food that you have, I feel it is better to help out that person with a little amount of money or some food than to not and have a guilty conscience

Lee is trying to persuade us to always do the right. He states that if it hard in the beginning for you, if you have the perseverance to continue it will only get easier. The best part about choosing the right is that you will have an approving conscience and feel good about yourself.
