SAT
I am currently in my junior year of high school and will be taking the SAT soon. I've have been studying for it very much. I bought a couple of books from the college board with practice test. I have also been reading the daily online articles. I have made flash cards from a book called word smart. My goal is to get a score of 2000 and up on the SAT.

“When you believe you can—you can.”
Dr. Maxwell Maltz
Reflection
I believe that doctor Maltz is correct. The first step to achieving anything is to believe that you can. I think that this is a bit psychological and it affects your performance. For example if you believe that you are good in the subject of math then you are and will be. If however that person is a negative thinker and believe that he or she is not good at math then they won’t be because they don’t have the confidence in themselves to be good. Think positively and you will succeed.

Note- Taking strategies
Part 1
How to get your class notes in shape
Getting the most out of high school and college means studying hard and using your time in class wisely. An effective note-taking strategy can help you do both. Here are the basics
·         Stay organized
·         It may seem obvious, but your class notes can only help you if you can find them. When yo are taking notes be sure to:
·         Keep all your notes in one place.
·         Date and number pages; Keeping them in order makes it easier to understand them.

Student Success statement
“Tell me what is right and
I will fight for it.”
-          Woodrow Wilson
I believe what president Wilson was trying to say is that he will defend what is right. He will not falter and let corruption or things of that sort continue. I believe that this is something that we should all do. Don’t follow the crowd but fight for what is right and fight to protect it.

Distance Education: Is a virtual Classroom for You?
Part 4 of 4
Emphasis on the written word
Most of the communication, as well as the course work, in distance learning classes are written. That is a plus, because the focus on the written word gives you the opportunity to develop as a writer – and strong writing skills are essential to academic success. However, if writing is a serious weakness for you, virtual learning may not be the best educational option until you improve your skills. Yes, most of distance education is the written word; therefore you need to be a good reader, love to read, and also love writing. Most of your assignments will be written and submitted to the instructor in the written format. Your penmanship needs to be excellent, spelling great, sentence structure above average, vocabulary extraordinary. You need to have online access with reliable equipment. If your internet communications at home isn’t working, you can’t do online education from your home and will need to go someplace where you do have access to the internet.
Decide whether it is Right for You
Distance education is not for everyone, but it might just before you. You really should seek it out and give it a try. You never know until you try. You might even fall in love with distance education. While distance education might be the perfect alternative for some students, it is not the right choice for everyone. So carefully consider your unique needs and interests and give distance education a try; then, decide if it is right for you.

“You must live in the present to secure the future”.
-Reverend Robert Craig
Reflection
I believe that this is telling us not to stay in the past because what we need to do is focus on the present. By focusing on the present we can make sure that our future become desirable. On the other hand don’t look only at the future because they will become nothing more than dreams and ideas if you don’t live in the present to make sure that your preferred future becomes true.

Distance education: Is a Virtual Class for you?
Part 3
Challenging Aspects of Distance Education
·         Lack of in person interaction: Some educators argue that both teacher-student and student-teacher contact are essential to learning. In Distance- learning classrooms, you may be able to participate in class discussions online in chat rooms, message boards or Web conferences -- but it’s not the same being with other students in a classrooms.
·         Different levels of quality: Much distance education programs supply an excellent learning experience, but others may not. Research any program before signing on to make sure it is rigorous enough. If you are choosing your own program, look into its accreditation before enrolling.
·         The need to self-start: Distance education lets you make your own schedules. If you have a hard time getting motivated, this might not be the ideal education setting for

Student Success Statement
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are small
Matters compared to what lies within us”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reflections

What I interpret this quote to be, it is not important how you get there but that you do it rightfully. If you became successful by choosing the wrong your conscience won’t feel good. The end does not justify the mean. Pave a road that you would like to walk through. If you are thinking about becoming successful or even winning a championship game at all cost you need to think more carefully. Winning through wrong means will never feel like a true win.
