This quote by Tamer is trying to get people from choosing the wrong. He believes that if you do choose to do wrong you will become miserable. You will never find happiness in choosing the wrong. The loss of freedom could mean something like jail or loss of rights. If you want to avoid all the troubles that come from doing wrong then, choose the right and do good.
