This comparison of between a man and a boat is used to emphasize how one cannot go anywhere without a destination or goal. Before you can accomplish something great you have to make a goal, and in order to get to your goal you have to make the right choices and follow the right steps. If you don’t make any goals don’t expect success just to come to you. An example of this could be a person who dreams of being a professional basketball player. If he makes it his goal and takes steps to getting there, then he will get there someday. If however you don’t know what you want to do and make no effort to try and find something you want to do , the your chances of being successful won’t be very high
